I redesigned my website (again)

writing & updates 〰️

So… Yes. The title is pretty self explanatory.

I went through a whole journey with my website.

The first one I made was done with mailerlite, it was nice, very authory and cute but relatively minimalist.

Except I couldn’t use it to sell physical things (meaning I had to use the now-AI-invaded pit that is Etsy – rest in peace, you used to be my go-to for local artisans).

Eventually, I got sick of Etsy, also I had created the expectation of a monthly newsletter + one free gift which I realised very quickly I couldn’t keep up with. That made me feel terrible about myself, even if realistically the only people who subscribed were my dad and grandpa.

I moved away from Mailerlite and decided to use Shopify instead.

Everything was going good, I spent ages linking my Shopify website with merch providers so that I could do fun merch without having to worry about storing everything in my bedroom.

But that became the root of the problem, it was now a shop. And my anticapitalism self struggled with that. It didn’t feel like me. Also, I realistically couldn’t sustain it.

And now what brings us to our third version of the website. Squarespace. That one platform every YouTuber I watch keeps getting sponsored by. I guess the marketing is effective because here I am.

And honestly? I love my new website. It took me hours. I cried whenever I had to adapt what I had made for a laptop screen onto a phone screen, or whenever the way things shifted depending on the size of the window messed up my layout, or whenever the page would reload because of the amount of pictures it had AND I HADN’T SAVED MY PROGRESS LIKE AN IDIOT so I had to redo it from scratch.

But either way.

It is done.

There is a page that presents me, a page about The Vampires of Yeeting Hill, a gallery with concept arts of pasts AND upcoming projects, and also never seen before personal work (I mean some of you might have already seen them but most of you definitely haven’t)

So here you go. Feel free to explore. You’re already on it.

Part of the reason why I like this one is that it feels much more like you guys get to know ME. Not a brand, but the hands typing on the keyboard at this moment, the eyes narrowing behind the glasses because I didn’t adjust the luminosity of my screen, in other words, the actual person.

A very short update, but that’s because everything interesting is on the website ;P
